Antigone Music Collective
The Antigone Music Collective is a group of performers who are dedicated to bringing modern music to modern audiences. Our mission is to connect modern audiences with music that accurately reflects the modern world through our carefully curated concert programs that stress the communication of the aesthetics of 20th and 21st century music. The Collective is led by Amelia Korbitz and Liam Battle.
Our work emphasizes diversity by virtue of the fact that our mission to reflect the modern world can only be accomplished through heavily diverse programming. We recognize that diversity in art is the only possible way to ethically reflect our reality to today’s audiences. Rather than adhere to a statistical affirmation of diversity- ultimately tokenizing diverse artists- the AMC is committed to performing programs that represent as diverse an array of voices as possible on every performance.
The AMC holds strong relationships with many living composers and frequently performs their works as a key way in achieving our goal of reflecting the world around us. These relationships are centered around collaboration and bringing about new works from these important artists in ways that are wonting in contemporary music spaces.
